“First Off: Intimacy Is Not Just Sex” – Osman Khalid Butt Replies to a Troll

Pakistan is heading towards a change, at least it seems so, and media is playing a major role in changing the mindsets of people. Thanks to our celebrity influencers who know how much their voices matter and are raising theirs to make a difference.

One of those celebrities is Zahid Ahmed who recently highlighted the dual standards of our society in an interview and said that “It is strange that we are allowed to slap women on TV but cannot show intimacy”.

Zahid’s statement has stirred a new controversy and people are now discussing this matter on social media. Celebrities have also come forward and defended his statement.

One of the celebrities who agree with Zahid is Osman Khalid Butt. Butt posted an Instagram story and wrote, “Strange Indeed”.

One of the users replied to Osman Khalid Butt’s story and said that this is “Just a pathetic excuse to get physical with female actors”.

The social media user also said, “Not to mention the influence it has on society and especially young children and young teens.”

Butt definitely did not agree with this definition of intimacy and decided to school the user. He commented, “Yeah, so reactions like this are wholly predictable,” he further said, “First off: intimacy is not just sex. Secondly, I’d rather my child see a healthy intimate relationship between fictional spouses than, you know, PHYSICAL ABUSE being normalized.” he added in the end, “The nerve to talk about ‘influence’.”

Osman Khalid Butt is very vocal about issues that require attention. Be it showing support for the “Me Too” movement or raising awareness about rape or abuse against women, Butt is always one of the few to raise is voice for the cause.

The latest actor to face bashing online is Faryal Mehmood.

The Aap Ke Liye famed actress is multitalented and loves sharing glimpses of her activities on social media. Whether it is her gym sessions or singing capabilities, Faryal Mehmood makes sure she shares it all with her fans.

Renowned for her acting skills in Laal Ishq, Mehmood is mostly seen on screen as a simple girl. However, in reality, she is a fashionista who is breaking the internet with her stunning looks and transformations. She likes to keep it casual and does not mind going bold with her pictures.

Her latest pictures are from a shoot where Mehmood has beautifully donned a backless top. She posted the pictures with caption, “This is for the social media trolls. Hoping this platform provides you that moment of importance you needed to assure your self-righteousness… Happy Trolling!”

Vogue Features Mira Sethi’s First Novel in List of Most Anticipated Novels for 2021

Mira Sethi is one of the most talented and versatile artists we have got in Pakistan. From modeling to acting to doing theatres and talk shows, she has successfully done them all. The latest update about the model-turned-actor is her debut novel which is listed as one of the most awaited in 2021 by Vogue.

The list of 53 must-read novel is put together by Vogue Magazine and Refinery29. The Yeh Dil Mera famed actor has been mentioning her novel “Are You Enjoying” on her social media platforms for a while now. Senior editor, Vogue, Chloe Schama describes it as a book that is powerful and has a light touch. She also calls Sethi a great storyteller, which is a huge compliment.

Last year, while discussing her upcoming book, Mira Sethi revealed that her book will highlight the stories from the entertainment industry, politics and even what is happening behind the closed bedroom doors.

Sethi is just not an amazing actor, she is a literature graduate as well. She also boasts the honour of being the first Pakistani to become Student Commencement Speaker at Wellesley College in 2010. Sethi has also spent some time in Oxford and now making headlines due to “Are You Enjoying”

Mira Sethi tied the knot with her friend in 2019 and was in the news for her simple yet unforgettable wedding. Her book “Are You Enjoying” is expected to release in April 2021, however, it will be available in Pakistan by May 2021.

The Punjab Nahi Jaongi famed actress celebrated her birthday on Wednesday with her close friends and family members. Mehwish Hayat is one of the finest actresses we have in Pakistan who has also represented us internationally on several occasions.

Be it dramas or movies, Hayat surprises her audience with her amazing acting skills. This is the reason she has been awarded Tamgha e Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.

Those who celebrated the 33^rd birthday of Mehwish Hayat along with her family include Azfar Rehman, Faiza Ashfaq, Danish Hayat and Fahad Hussain.

Sharing the picture of her birthday bash on Instagram, Hayat thanked everyone for wishing her and sending prayers. She also elaborated on how the last year was full of opportunities and gave her an idea about the things that matter the most to her.

She said, “Thank you everyone for all wonderful birthday messages – your love means so much. As I turn 33 the past year gave me opportunity to reflect, assess my life and see what really matters to me. Work has been so full on, I’d forgotten the simple pleasures in life; getting my mother oiling my hair, beating my brothers and Nephew at video games, watching Netflix with my sister – all things that I’d missed. Believe me nothing in life is as important as family.”

She told everyone to live their lives to the fullest and that too on their own terms, “Let’s not let society dictate the way we want to lead our life. It is possible for a girl in her early 30’s to be totally happy without being married and with children. It’ll happen when it will and not to some prescribed timetable.

Change needs to be systemic. I am a little fed up of celebrities (including me) made ambassadors for meaningful causes that fizzle out after a grand launch and photo op. How many times have we flooded social media, taken out rallies after some distressing event and then what?”

Hayat has always been vocal about topics that are still considered a taboo in our society. She added,
“Depression is real”. Though my life may seem perfect, we all have our insecurities and shortcomings. But as long as we work towards inner healing and connecting with the divine, we are capable of overcoming everything that life throws at us.
The world was put on pause for us to reflect, how we come out of this is up to us. I, for one know the direction I need to take. My mother always teaches that we have to create our own destinies where ever that may lead. I will dare to dream and dare to dream big. Anything is possible if you believe! 💕💪🏻”

The glamorous world of entertainment is very cruel. People do not even think for a moment before posting judgmental comments here. That is what exactly happened with Sarah Khan when she shared a picture of her latest drama Raqs e Bismil and criticism started pouring in.

Sarah and Noor Khan lost their father last week. They have already lost their mother to a long battle with cancer in 2017. Now the three sisters and two brothers are going through a lot of pain after losing both the parents, yet some netizens have got no basic manners.

It was Abdul Samad Zia, who was also Sarah Khan’s official wedding photographer, who broke this news on the internet. While many fans commented their heartfelt condolences to the Khan sisters, there were some who thought it was the perfect time to school Sarah Khan.

Ms. Khan shared the picture of “Moosa Aur Zohra” and a troll said, “Moosa n Zohra ki pari hai!!! N ur father? Abhe ek week hua hai unha gaye huye and ur posting about dramas? Oh God, kesi dunia hai ye adakari ki”. To which Sarah Khan responded, “kyun ek maheenay baad post karti to gham kum ho jata? Does that even make any sense?”

People should realize that not everyone needs their advice, especially when it is unsolicited and you are giving it to someone who is going through the trauma of losing a dear one.

This is the second saddening news we came to know in the past week. Earlier it was the death of Aiman and Minal Khan which was announced by Aiman’s husband Muneeb on social media.

We are deeply saddened by both the deaths and offer our condolences to the families.

Nadia Khan Introduces Her Husband to the World

Nadia Khan got married in a small ceremony and took to Instagram to share her wedding pictures. The diva looked absolutely stunning on her big day and asked her followers to stay tuned for more pictures.

Khan, later on, shared her complete wedding album on YouTube and we cannot help but admire the beautiful sea green ensemble she donned and paired it with subtle make-up and pink lips.

Sharing the details about her husband and his family, Nadia Khan said, “My husband Wing Commander Faisal Mumtaz Rao is a retired PAF officer and fighter pilot. Born in Lahore in 1970, Faisal joined Pakistan Air Force as a commissioned officer in the 90th GDP course back in 1991. He is known to be one of the most competent and distinguished pilots with 30 years of Flying and Management experience with leading air forces of the world.”

She further added, “Faisal has over 4000 flying hours on Mirage, F-7, Hawk Grob, T-37, Cessna, and other aircrafts. Apart from that, he has topped all the major training courses both in Pakistan and the UAE. He retired from the Pakistan Air Force as Wing Commander in 2009 after serving for 18 years and joined the UAE Air Force first as Instructor Pilot and then as Chief of Safety.”

“Faisal is not new to media since he was featured in ISPR’s song Hawa ka Sipahi by Najam Sheraz.”

Telling about his son, Nadia wrote, “Faisal’s son Hayyan is pursuing his engineering degree in the US.”

Nadia also broke her silence and clarified misunderstandings about her number of marriages, “Kiaan is my adopted son and this is my second marriage.”

2020 was a challenging year for everyone. Calamities, eclipses, supermoons and a global pandemic, it saw it all. As if all this was not enough, it took away our favourite celebrities away from us, too.

Tariq Aziz

A whole generation grew up watching the Tariq Aziz Show, formerly known as Neelam Ghar, on PTV. The veteran actor started his career with Radio Pakistan and later on moved to television. He was 84 when he died on 17^th June, 2020 in Lahore due to a heart attack.

Sabiha Khanum

Also known as the First Lady of Pakistan’s Silver Screen, Sabiha Khanum lost her life to renal complications at the age of 84 in the United States. She will always be remembered for her extraordinary roles in movies like Dulla Bhatti, Ek Gunah Aur Sahi, Sassi and Devar Bhabhi

Zara Abid

A renowned actress, model and an amazing human being, Zara was awarded the Best Female Model award in January. She also made her way to the movies and worked in a project with Azeem Sajjad. Sadly, she was one of the unfortunate passengers of flight 8303 which was crashed in Karachi this year.

Sushant Singh Rajput

The 34-year-old star apparently committed suicide in June, 2020. He was allegedly fighting depression and mentioned it several times before taking his own life. Sushant rose to the heights of fame with his movies like MS Dhoni, Kai Po Che! and Dil Bechara.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan was suffering from cancer and was admitted in a hospital in Mumbai where he lost his life. He created his own identity in the industry with his remarkable performances in Piku and Maqbool. He was also appreciated globally for his movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Life of a Pi.

Chadwick Boseman

Celebrated for his role in Black Panther, Chadwick breathed his last at the age of 43 on 28^th August this year. He was suffering from cancer since years.

Bilal Abbas Khan’s DUNK is all set to release on ARY Digital

[Karachi, Dec 20, 2020] After his successful foray into the digital world with the hit web series ‘Ek Jhooti Love Story’ this year, Bilal Abbas Khan is once again headed to the small screen with drama serial ‘Dunk’, slated to go on-air from 23rd December, Wednesday, at 8 PM on ARY Digital.

This marks as his third project with director Badar Mehmood, who he has previously worked with in the critically acclaimed dramas Cheekh and Balaa, earning Lux Style Awards nominations for both two years in a row. His new drama ‘Dunk’ is a murder mystery where Bilal Abbas would be seen in a lead role opposite Sana Javed for the first time.
