Newly unsealed court documents have revealed that Blake Lively was set to earn substantial bonuses tied to the success of her 2024 romantic drama, It Ends With Us. The revelations come amid her ongoing legal dispute with co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
According to filings obtained by Us Weekly, Lively’s contract outlined not only a multimillion-dollar salary but also lucrative performance incentives based on the film’s box office milestones and potential award wins.
The documents confirm that the 38-year-old actress received $1.75 million in fixed compensation for portraying Lily Bloom, the central character in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel. Additionally, Lively was entitled to 10 percent of the total revenue, as well as conditional bonuses for the film’s commercial and critical performance.
The contract included a $250,000 bonus if the movie’s box office gross reached three times its production budget. Further clauses detailed a $100,000 award bonus for an Oscar nomination and an additional $200,000 payout in the event of a win.
Beyond financial compensation, the agreement also specified premium accommodations during production, including the use of a private jet for Lively, her children, her personal security team, and domestic staff during the Las Vegas shoot.
The contract’s unsealing is part of a broader legal battle between Lively and Baldoni, which has attracted widespread media attention. In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment during the filming of It Ends With Us. Baldoni later filed a countersuit accusing Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, of attempting to damage his reputation.
In June, a New York judge dismissed Baldoni’s defamation claim, citing insufficient evidence. Lively’s case, however, remains active and is currently scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
The revelations surrounding Lively’s contract have reignited debate about Hollywood pay structures and the incentives tied to award recognition. With It Ends With Us continuing to draw attention long after its release, both the film and its off-screen controversies remain major talking points in the entertainment industry.
