Rupee Extends Rally, Gains for 99th Straight Day Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward trend on Thursday, closing stronger against the US Dollar (USD) for the 99th consecutive session.

According to market data, the rupee gained one paisa during today’s trading session, settling at Rs. 279.65 per US dollar. The consistent appreciation marks one of the longest sustained recovery streaks in recent years.

In addition to gains against the dollar, the PKR also strengthened against most other major foreign currencies during the session, reflecting improved interbank market stability.

Currency analysts attribute the rupee’s ongoing stability to controlled import demand, improved remittance inflows, regulatory measures, and tighter monitoring of the foreign exchange market.

The continued upward momentum signals growing confidence in the local currency, though market observers remain watchful of external factors such as global oil prices, foreign reserves, and overall economic indicators.
