Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal will provide 60 merit- and need-based scholarships annually to deserving students of the Department of Sociology at the University of Peshawar under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Under the agreement, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal will allocate approximately Rs. 3.6 million each year to support financially disadvantaged and academically deserving students enrolled in the Sociology Department. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on students from low-income backgrounds and promote access to higher education.
Officials stated that the scholarship program reflects a shared commitment to empowering youth through education and ensuring that talented students are not deprived of academic opportunities due to financial constraints.
The annual funding will cover tuition and other academic expenses for selected candidates, enabling them to focus on their studies without economic hardship. The collaboration is also expected to strengthen institutional support systems and encourage more students to pursue social sciences education.
University representatives welcomed the initiative, noting that such partnerships play a crucial role in fostering inclusive education and social development. The scholarships will be awarded based on both merit and verified financial need.
This initiative highlights ongoing efforts to expand educational assistance programs across Pakistan, supporting underprivileged students and promoting equitable access to quality higher education.
