Chris Green Replaces Max Bryant in Islamabad United Ahead of PSL 11

Islamabad United have announced the signing of Australian all-rounder Chris Green for Rs. 1.40 crore as a replacement for fellow Australian Max Bryant”], who has been ruled out of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) due to injury.

Max Bryant, known for his aggressive batting and high strike rate, was initially acquired for Rs. 1.95 crore during the PSL 11 auction. However, his withdrawal left Islamabad United needing a strong replacement to maintain squad balance ahead of the upcoming tournament.

Chris Green brings a versatile skill set as a spin-bowling all-rounder. He previously featured for Multan Sultans during the 2019 season and returns to the PSL following impressive performances in the Big Bash League (BBL 15) for Sydney Thunder. His recent standout display included a match-winning blitz against Melbourne Renegades, where Green hit three consecutive sixes in a late-innings surge, earning Player of the Match honors.

The inclusion of Chris Green adds both batting depth and spin-bowling options, giving Islamabad United greater flexibility in team selection. This move continues a growing trend in PSL 11 of Australian players replacing each other, with Rawalpindi previously signing Usman Khawaja as a replacement for Laurie Evans.

With the tournament just around the corner, franchises are finalizing last-minute squad adjustments, making late signings like Green’s an important factor in strengthening their competitive edge. Islamabad United will be looking to leverage his all-round abilities to boost their chances in the upcoming season.
