Global K-pop sensation BTS has officially confirmed the release of their highly anticipated album ARIRANG, sending fans worldwide into celebration. The seven-member group will release their first full album in nearly four years on March 20, 2026, marking the end of a long hiatus.
This will be BTS’ first group project since completing their mandatory military service. Their previous release, the anthology album Proof, came out in June 2022, shortly before the members paused group activities to fulfill their duties in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces.
The band shared the news in a personal and heartfelt manner. BTS members RM (31), Jin (33), Suga (32), J-Hope (31), Jimin (30), V (30), and Jung Kook (28) sent handwritten letters to select members of their official fan club, BTS ARMY, along with membership cards confirming the March 20 release date. South Korean media outlets later independently verified the announcement, adding to the excitement.

Fans had already been anticipating a return, as BTS dropped hints during a group livestream in July 2025, their first live appearance together in nearly three years. During the event, the group confirmed that work on a new album had begun but did not reveal the release date. They emphasized the album’s personal significance, stating, “Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”
BTS also confirmed a world tour will follow the album’s release, raising expectations that their extended absence from the global stage is finally coming to an end. Fans are eagerly anticipating live performances after years of solo and military-focused activities.

Debuting in 2013, BTS gradually rose to international prominence with hits like MIC DROP and DNA, ultimately breaking into mainstream global stardom by 2017. Over the years, the group has secured six No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, cementing their legacy as one of the most successful K-pop acts of all time.

During their hiatus, each member focused on solo projects, with all seven releasing at least one solo album between 2022 and 2025. With military service now complete and the ARIRANG release date confirmed, BTS fans are preparing for what many are calling one of the most significant comebacks in modern pop music history.
