Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor Shine at Concert Night Ahead of Princess of Asturias Awards

The Spanish Royal Family officially began the 2025 Princess of Asturias Awards celebrations with an elegant concert evening in Oviedo, setting the tone for one of Spain’s most prestigious cultural events.

On Friday, October 23, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were joined by their daughters — Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía — at the 33rd Princess of Asturias Awards Concert, held at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium.

A Family Dressed in Style

The royal family made a dazzling entrance, turning the concert into a red-carpet-worthy affair.

Princess Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, exuded sophistication in an Armani Emporio outfit, reflecting her growing poise and personal style.

Her sister, Infanta Sofía, opted for a chic HUGO by Hugo Boss jumpsuit, adding a modern edge to the royal family’s ensemble.

Queen Letizia, ever the style icon, looked effortlessly regal alongside King Felipe VI, who donned a classic suit for the formal occasion.

Music and Majesty in Oviedo

The concert was organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation, in collaboration with the CajAstur Foundation, to mark the opening of the annual awards week — celebrating excellence in science, culture, and humanitarian work.

The royal household later shared glimpses of the event on their official Instagram account, writing:

“The 2025 #PrincessofAsturiasAwards celebration kicks off in Oviedo with the 33rd Princess of Asturias Awards Concert!”

The post continued:

“Under the presidency of the King and Queen, the Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofía, the concert entitled ‘Brahms and Dvořák. Great Masters of the 19th Century’ was performed by the Oviedo Filarmonía Orchestra (OFIL) and the Princess of Asturias Foundation Choir (FPA), under the direction of Lucas Macías.”

The musical evening also featured stirring renditions of the Spanish National Anthem and the Anthem of Asturias, closing the night on a note of national pride and royal grace.

A Regal Prelude to the Awards Night

The Princess of Asturias Awards, often regarded as Spain’s equivalent to the Nobel Prizes, will take place this weekend, honoring global figures for their contributions to arts, literature, science, and international cooperation.

This year’s ceremony carries special anticipation, as Princess Leonor continues to take on a more prominent royal role following her military training and 18th birthday celebrations earlier this year.

The concert, blending music, culture, and tradition, was not just an elegant prelude — it was a reminder of how the Spanish royal family continues to champion the arts as a pillar of national identity.
